While conventional treatments like medication and physical therapy offer relief to many, some individuals seek alternative therapies like acupuncture, magnetic resonance, and upper cervical chiropractic treatment hoping to find more relief. In this blog post, we look at some of these treatments, how they work, and how effective they are for those suffering from musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain.

 



Upper Cervical Chiropractic Treatment

Upper cervical chiropractic treatment is a unique type of chiropractic care that zeroes in on the alignment and movement of the two topmost vertebrae in your neck (upper cervical spine), called the atlas and the axis. This approach is precise and relies mostly on the use of sound waves. There is very little physical manipulation, if any, compared to regular chiropractic. Chiropractic treatment can provide relief from musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain by aligning the pine, helping to regulate nerve function, and helping the muscles to relax. This is somewhat similar to the pain relief afforded by upper cervical chiropractic except that it requires physical manipulation applied to any area of the vertebral column or other areas of the body.  Upper cervical chiropractic uses sound waves and focuses on the alignment of the first and second vertebrae, is precision-based, and involves very little if any physical manipulation.  Joint dysfunction can contribute to pain and stiffness. Chiropractic adjustments aim to restore proper joint mechanics, allowing for improved movement and reduced pain.

Rife Frequency Therapy

Rife therapy, also known as Rife frequency therapy, is an alternative healing method that involves using electromagnetic frequency (EMF) devices to address a range of health concerns, like chronic pain. It is based on the ideas of Royal Raymond Rife, a scientist and inventor from the early 20th century. Rife suggested that specific frequencies could target and eliminate harmful pathogens while supporting the body's natural healing processes.

 

In Rife therapy, devices emit low-energy electromagnetic waves at precise frequencies thought to resonate with particular tissues or microorganisms. Proponents of this therapy claim that these frequencies can ease pain and aid healing by tackling the root causes of various health issues, including musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain. It seems to be particularly beneficial for pain stemming from microbial infections or imbalances in the body.

 

Patients or users undergo regular sessions where they are exposed to the selected frequencies for a predetermined duration. The chosen frequencies are emitted through a Rife device, which can be in the form of a handheld device, a mat, or a machine with various attachments.

 

The Effectiveness of Rife Treatment for Pain Management

While some individuals find relief and improved quality of life through this therapy, its effectiveness varies from person to person. If pain stems from microbial infections or imbalances targeted by Rife frequencies, individuals may experience greater relief compared to cases where pain originates from other sources.


As with any alternative treatment, including those discussed in this article, it is essential to consult with qualified healthcare professionals and consider individual circumstances before incorporating Rife therapy into a pain management regimen.

 

 

Actions You Can Take to Help Yourself

If you or someone close to you is suffering from chronic pain, which you are told can only be addressed by spinal fusion which involves the use of metal plates and screws, you need to do your research so that you can be prepared to ask your doctor relevant questions before deciding on the best course of action to take.

 

Before taking any medication for pain that you are told is permanent and can only be treated with pharmaceutical products, it is important to do your research. Make sure that you are aware of the side effects and long-term effects.

 

Carry out your research to see if there are alternative therapies, natural products, or remedies that will offer you pain relief and help you with pain management.

 

Be aware that your health insurance may not cover some of these therapies so you would have to pay out of pocket. Some insurance companies may require you to pay and then they reimburse you. Also, some practitioners do not accept insurance but will sign the claim forms for you to submit.

 

Also, ask your doctor if you can integrate any alternative therapy that you think will help into your conventional treatment plan.

 

I have personally found that although physical therapy offers short-term relief for neck and back pain resulting from herniated discs and nerve impingement, eventually the benefits diminish. Rife, EFT, Quantum Biofeedback Therapy, and Magnetic Resonance Therapy, all gave me some degree of relief during the periods that I used them.  I have never tried chiropractic as based on the nature of the injury I suffered it could be risky.  The therapy that has worked the best for me is upper cervical chiropractic.

 

Initially, upper cervical chiropractic therapy requires frequent weekly and monthly visits to the practitioner. First images of the neck area are taken and the adjustment or correction is made. Once your body has adjusted to the realignment of your cervical spine, and it is holding in place, visits become less frequent and can be once per quarter, semi-annually, or perhaps even annually.  It all depends on your situation, how well your body reacts to the treatment, and how well you follow the instructions given by the upper cervical doctor. 

 

Upper cervical doctors are usually found only in large cities. I was fortunate to have one near me, only because she is from the area. She also understood my type of injury having had a similar injury herself. It was this type of treatment that helped her and was the reason she changed careers to become an upper cervical chiropractor.   Having a doctor who understands what one is going through helps a lot.

Are You Humble or Impertinent to God? Understanding True Humility in Light of Scriptures

 


In the world of Christian values, humility is often praised as one of the most important virtues. What is the meaning of a sense of humility? It is the feeling or attitude that you have no special importance that makes you better than others. Many talks, lessons, and encouragements stress how crucial humility is for people who follow Jesus. It makes sense because humility was a big part of Jesus' character. Sometimes, in trying so hard to be humble, do we miss the point and end up hurting our relationship with God?

 

The greatest display of humility was shown by the Great God and Savior Jesus Christ who humbled Himself to the cross. Philippians 2:5-8, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”

 

When God robed Himself in a body of flesh and subjected Divinity to humanity, that took great humility. He humbled Himself to all the verbal and physical abuses by the religious leaders/ He could have called ten thousand angels, but He humbled Himself to complete the task of saving you and me. God who knows all things humbled Himself to be touched with the feelings of our infirmities so that He became acquainted with our griefs and now in every area. He is now familiar with how we feel. He is now touched by the feelings of our infirmities. He has now become our example of humility.  

 

We've all been told since we were young children to be humble. What does it mean to be a humble person? A humble person is not proud and does not believe that they are better than other people. We are not to brag about ourselves, and to push away compliments. We are told to act like we're not that important in the bigger picture of things. This can result in a lack of confidence and even being confident in a false sense of humility. It can also lead us to question God. While being humble is good, could it be that when we try to act humble in front of others, we're not showing respect to God?

 

The Bible has a lot to say about humility and how important it is for people who believe in God. Let's take a closer look at what the Bible says to understand the true meaning of humility and how it is different when we are humble in front of people compared to being humble in front of God. What sounds humble to God may sound boastful to man. If someone were to say they are a child of God or a saint of God some may question their declaration.

 

 

Misunderstandings About Being Humble: Are We Disrespecting God?

 

Sometimes, in our efforts to seem humble, we end up putting ourselves down too much. This can show a lack of respect towards God. When we constantly talk ourselves down and act like we're not worth much, we might be forgetting that God made us special and loves us as His children. His word, the bible, also tells us who we are in Him and who we are to Him. Who are we to say otherwise? In 1 Corinthians 15:10, the Apostle Paul stated that God’s grace which was placed upon him was not in vain. He was acknowledging that although he was not capable God made him capable of doing what was required of him.

 

Let's take a look at the story of the talents in Matthew 25:14-30. There's a servant who gets a talent from his master but hides it because he's scared and doesn't believe in himself. In the end, the master doesn't praise him for being humble. Instead, he gets in trouble for not having faith and using what he was given.

 

Similarly, when Moses hesitated to follow God's plan because he didn't think he was good enough, God didn't say, "Good job for being humble, Moses!" Instead, God encouraged him and gave him the strength and help to do what he was asked. As related in Exodus 4:10, Moses was reluctant because he felt that he was not an eloquent speaker. These stories show us that trying to be humble and not believing God or saying that we are not good enough can stop us from doing what God wants us to do. This will then cause us to be disobedient and not please God.

 

 

Understanding True Humility: Surrendering to God with Respect

 

Real humility, as we see in the Bible, isn't about thinking we're not worth much or pretending we're not good at anything. If God has given you a special gift or characteristic there is no reason to deny it, as long as it does not cause you to be proud and boastful. Instead, it's about knowing that we need God for everything and following His plans with respect and wonder.


Proverbs 3:5-6 says we should trust God with everything we have and not just rely on what we understand. We should remember Him in everything we do. If the word of God says you are a saint or that you are chosen as a part of the church and His bride, then you are.

 

Also, Philippians 2:3-4, talks about not doing things just to make ourselves look good or important. Instead, we should think about others more than ourselves and care about what they need. True humility means being ready to help others and make God proud in everything we do.

 

 

Humility Before Man Versus Humility Before God

 

There exists a crucial distinction between humility as perceived by man and humility as understood in the context of our relationship with God. Humility before man often involves outward displays of modesty and self-effacement, seeking to avoid arrogance or pride in the eyes of others. While this form of humility has its merits in fostering empathy towards others, it falls short when it becomes a facade that masks a deeper sense of unworthiness or inadequacy.

 

In contrast, humility before God entails a profound recognition of His sovereignty and goodness, coupled with a reverent submission to His will. It is not about denigrating ourselves but exalting God and acknowledging His infinite wisdom and grace. Psalm 139:14 beautifully captures this sentiment, declaring, "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."

 

Understanding Why Having the Right Attitude is Important

 

It's really important to have the right attitude about humility. This means understanding who we are as God's children. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are made by God and that He has good things planned for us to do. Instead of acting like we're not good enough, we should accept the gifts and talents God gave us and use them to make Him happy and help others. If other people question your worth or your gifts all you need to do is to affirm who God says you are in the Bible. If they choose to not embrace His word about themselves that is entirely their choice. The relationship that should matter the most in your life is your personal relationship with your Redeemer and Lord.

 

Also, being humble before God means we have to trust Him completely. We need to be okay with giving up what we want and following His plans, even if we don't understand them. Isaiah 55:8-9 tells us that God's thoughts and ways are way better than ours, so we should trust Him. When we let go and let God lead us, amazing things can happen in our lives. We need to allow God to fulfill His purpose through our lives.

 

 

Understanding What Humility Really Means

 

To sum it all up, humility isn't about making ourselves seem small or unimportant. Instead, it's about showing how amazing God is and following His plans with respect and wonder. While acting humble around people might mean acting modest, being humble in front of God goes much deeper.

 

Psalm 138:6 states,” Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar.” As Christians, we're supposed to be humble. This means knowing that we need God for everything and trusting Him completely. We should also remember that God made us special and loves us a lot, so we should use our talents to make Him happy and to help others. We are his instruments, and He can require of us whatever He pleases. Do you remember the story of the prophet Jonah who refused to deliver a message to the people of Nineveh? He felt that God would forgive the people and that would make him seem to be a false prophet. In the end, he delivered the message after being swallowed by a whale and being thrown on the shore of the city.


Let's work on having an attitude of humility that shows how much we respect and trust God. Let us demonstrate our faith in who He says we are. When we do that, we're doing what we're meant to do, and God will bless us for it.

How Do We Start Over After A Major Disappointment?

 

Starting over after a major disappointment such as a divorce, or the loss of a job, can be a challenging and emotionally draining process. Have you ever had to start over? I have had to restart after a divorce, and it was not an easy process. Learning to love and trust again was a process and it took time. We live our lives based on our religious beliefs and we tend to think that with Jesus we will overcome the challenges but when our relationship fails, or we lose our job it causes us to question our beliefs. I found that even though I questioned my faith wondering why, why did the Lord do this or allow this to happen to me, how come I could not salvage my relationship or save my job?  


 

After a couple days of soul searching the Holy Ghost began to encourage my heart and my mind and I began to draw strength from my faith in Christ Jesus and relying on His mercies. Gradually God began to provide comfort, guidance, and renewed hope. His words began to refresh my heart and mind. Isaiah 43: 18-19 states, “Remember ye, not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”  Just as the Lord encouraged me, I am sure He will also encourage you.

 

Starting over requires applying the principles taught to us by Christ and the knowledge acquired by our education and experience. First, we must acknowledge our feelings. Psalm 34:18 states, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."  Allow yourself to feel the disappointment and grieve the loss or failure. It's essential to acknowledge and process your emotions to begin the healing process. Secondly, we need to seek God’s Guidance and Wisdom as stated in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." We should also spend time in prayer, seeking God’s guidance, wisdom, and direction for our lives. Ask Him to reveal His plan and purpose for you, even during your healing process.

 

Thirdly, it is very important that we forgive and release resentment. Ephesians 4:31-32 states, "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."  Forgiveness is crucial for healing and moving forward. This includes forgiving others who may have contributed to the disappointment and forgiving yourself for any perceived failures or mistakes. Fourthly we should learn from our mistakes and failures and embrace a renewed mindset. Romans 12:2 tells us, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing, and perfect will." Focus on renewing your mind with positive and faith-filled thoughts. Replace negative and defeating thoughts with the truth of God’s Word and His promises for your life.

 

Fifthly, we should take practical steps forward guided by Philippians 3:13-14, "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  Set achievable goals and take practical steps to move forward. This may include seeking new opportunities, learning from the experience, and trusting God to guide you in the right direction. We must surround ourselves with a supportive community. We are encouraged by Hebrews 10:24-25, "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching."  A supportive community of friends, family, and fellow believers can encourage, uplift, and pray for you during those times.

 

As we continue to trust in God’s unfailing love and promises, meditate on Lamentations 3:22-23, "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."  Remember that God’s mercies are new every day, and His love is unfailing. Trust in His promises and have faith that He will work all things together for your good and His glory.

Kindness to Others not Heartlessness





In today's busy and uncertain world, the difference between caring about others and not caring at all is really clear. Some people go out of their way to help others, showing kindness and understanding. On the other hand, some just don't seem to care about anyone else. They ignore the problems and suffering of others, acting like it doesn't matter.

 

We need to think about this difference. With all the chaos and confusion around us, we need to take a good look at how we treat others and what it means for our world. People sometimes find themselves in circumstances not of their choosing. We need to bear in mind that regardless of how well we are doing, there could be a time when we find ourselves in similar circumstances.

 

It is not only necessary for us to offer support physically or financially if we can, but also spiritually. Romans 8:34, “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died - more than that, who was raised to life - is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.” Christ is interceding for all of us and has set the example for us to intercede for others also. Romans 8:27 also tells us that the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. It is easy to look the other way but we can be the “Good Samaritan” who lends a helping hand. The story is told in Luke 10:29 – 37.

 

 

Being Kind and Helpful to Others

 

Jesus Christ has set the example for us regarding intercession. It is about caring deeply for people who are struggling. It's more than just feeling sorry for them - it's wanting to make things better and being there for them when they need it most. Whether it's praying for them, speaking up for them, or doing something to help, intercessors show compassion and give hope to those going through tough times. The Bible commands us to pray for one another, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” (James 5:16, ESV).

 

In today's world, there are a lot of people who need help. They might be dealing with big problems like not having enough food or facing unfair treatment. That's why it's so important for all of us to step up and help out. In Galatians 6:2 the Apostle Paul tells us to, “Bear ye one another’s burden, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Many persons individually or through organizations offer help to those in need. By lending our voices, resources, and support to those who are struggling, we show that we care about them and want to make things right. Together, we can make the world a better and fairer place for everyone.

 

 

When People Ignore Others' Pain

 

There is a big issue in our society with people not caring about each other. There are even people who get upset when help is offered to those in need. It shows up in lots of ways, like when someone sees another person suffering but chooses to ignore it. When people lobby for the poor or people who are experiencing difficulties to go unassisted it shows the callousness and hardheartedness of society. It's also seen when leaders care more about making money than helping people, and in systems that treat some people unfairly.

 

This lack of care - called heartlessness - causes a lot of problems. It makes communities feel divided and causes arguments. It keeps people who are already struggling stuck in tough situations. Worst of all, it makes us forget how important it is to treat everyone with kindness and respect. We should pray earnestly for them and ask the Holy Spirit to intervene in their situation. Many persons have been saved from dangerous circumstances as a result of spiritual intervention involving prayer and intercession. Let us also pray for those who are uncaring towards others who are in need.


 

Being Kind Instead of Ignoring Problems

 

When we see a lot of people not caring about others, it's clear that we need to do something about it. We can't just sit back and watch when unfair things happen. Instead, we need to be kind and understanding and stand up for those who are treated unfairly. 

 

Helping others isn't just a nice thing to do.  It is really important. It means recognizing that we might have more advantages than others and using those advantages to make things fairer for everyone. It's about speaking up for people who aren't being heard, sharing their stories, and working to change things for the better. 

 

We don't have to do big, heroic things to make a difference. Even small acts of kindness, like listening to someone who needs to talk or giving a helping hand, can have a big impact. It's about being there for each other and showing that we care.

 

 

Make Your Corner of the World a Better Place

 

In a world where there's a lot of fighting and disagreements, the choice to help others or ignore them is important. This is an important part of who we are as a people and what values we hold dear because it shows whether we care about other people or not. It's about choosing to be understanding and caring, instead of being cold and uncaring. Let us do what Ephesians 4:32 tells us and be kind to each other.

 

As we deal with the problems we face today, let us remember to help out those who need it. Let's stand up for people who are treated unfairly, and work to make things better for everyone. By doing this, we show that we respect and care about every person, no matter who they are or where they come from.

Finding Strength in God During Difficult Times

 

 

Have you ever experienced a hurricane, tornado, wildfire, earthquake, or any of the other major natural disasters? I have experienced many hurricanes and they have been terrifying. The hurricane season runs from May to the end of November each year.  Once the hurricane season starts, it is important for those of us who live in such zones to pay close attention to the weather reports. This will help us to be aware if one develops, and to learn which countries it will affect, the path that it will travel to, and the cities that it may impact.


 

When a hurricane is predicted to affect where I live, I begin to pray. Not just me, Christians all around begin to pray asking God to turn the hurricane away from its current path so that we will not be directly affected. I always ask this question, if God causes the hurricane to shift from the current path and miss my city, but it affects another city, is that fair? Also, the Christians in the other town are praying for a similar shift, whose prayer should God answer?  

 

Be Prepared

 

Living in the USA, you will be faced with certain natural disasters each year depending on where you live, and there is nothing you can do about it other than prepare. California battles forest fires every summer, Florida battles hurricanes from summer to autumn, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Florida, and Nebraska are noted for tornadoes, and other states have heavy winter snowfall which is hazardous. Most of the USA, except Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi (as they get the least amount of snow, if any), face the onslaught of winter each year. As for earthquakes, we never know when or where they will strike. This blog is not about the weather or natural disasters, but just as we prepare to manage natural disasters, we must also be prepared to manage the disasters in our own lives. As long as we are in this body of flesh, we will have tribulations. We must be prepared to manage their effects. 

 

John 16 vs 33, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Jesus was speaking to the disciples and reminding them that tribulation is unavoidable, but He told them not to worry but to be happy because He had overcome the world. Jesus outlined the steps to deal with tribulation. These are:  Be at peace, Be of good cheer and He has overcome the world.

 

Since we know that tribulation is a natural part of our life, we are mentally at peace knowing that Christ is with us and in us. Just like when Jesus was in the boat with the disciples and was sleeping. Mark 4: 37 – 41, “And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? and he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, what manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?” We are to be at peace because Jesus is with us and in us, He will never leave us alone.

 

God Is In Us

 

You and I are filled with the Holy Ghost, so Christ in us the hope of glory. His spirit works on our minds and inspires us with internal happiness which causes us to be of good cheer. We know that Jesus has already overcome the world and since we are complete in Him, He will help us to also overcome the tribulations that are in this world and that will affect us.

 

The Bible says the trials we face are common to all men and women whether we are saved or not. How we handle these trials will be based on our beliefs, principles, and faith. God prepares us to handle life's storms by teaching us the principles of success found in 2 Peter 1: 1-10 “Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:  Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:”

 

The Principles of Success

 

The principles of success are faith in the word of God while acquiring the knowledge of God and believing in His promises. We then should be diligent in adding to our faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and finally charity. If these things are in us, Jesus says we will not fall.

Diligence is being steady, earnest, and giving energetic effort to a task we will work devotedly and painstakingly to accomplish our objectives.

Faith is complete trust or confidence in someone or something. A strong belief in God or in the doctrines of religion is based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

Virtue is behavior showing high moral standards.

Knowledge is facts, information, and skills acquired by a person through experience or education, the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject.

Temperance is moderation in action, thought, or feeling, and restraint.

Patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.

Godliness is the quality or practice of conforming to the laws and wishes of God; devoutness and moral uprightness.

Brotherly Kindness comes from the Greek term “Philadelphia” literally meaning the love of brothers.

Charity - When we have charity, we are loyal, we believe in the best of others, and we are kind to them. We have pure love when, from the heart, we show genuine concern and compassion for all our brothers and sisters.

 

We are Changing.

 

We are to grow into the image of Christ and since growth takes time, gradually we cultivate the internal quality to be diligent and earnest in seeking after Christ so that our faith increases in Him. As our faith in His word grows, we become more virtuous, and our love for truth increases. This leads to us acquiring more knowledge. The more knowledgeable we are, the more temperate and patient we grow. Then we learn godliness which helps us to love our brothers. The spirit of love flows out of us, and the quality of Christ begins to shine out of our lives and is felt by those around us. Our wives, our children, our co-workers, our neighbors, and our friends.      

 

Now we are maturing into the fulness of Christ which helps us to find strength in God during difficult times. As the word of Jesus comes alive in our spirit and mind and lives out practically with ourselves and people. When hard times come, we are at peace with ourselves, we are cheerful because we have overcome the world. We know that there hath no temptation taken us, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer us to be tempted above that we are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that we may be able to bear it.

  

Our Lord Jesus told us that “Now Are we the sons of God”. This is one of the purposes of salvation to change us into His image and make us joint heir with Him. With this reality, it changes how we view the challenges of life. Now we rejoice in tribulation because we understand what it is doing for us and who it is making us to be like.

In Isaiah 38:21, the prophet Isaiah instructed that a plaster of figs be laid on the sores of King Hezekiah so that he would be healed. Natural remedies have been in use for centuries for all kinds of ailments.

 

These age-old solutions, rooted in ancient wisdom and bolstered by modern research, present promising alternatives for addressing pain and inflammation. Unlike conventional medications, they offer gentler pathways to relief, with fewer unwanted side effects. Let's delve into six of these natural marvels, exploring how they can soothe discomfort and why they hold such potency in the realm of natural medicine. Cinnamon:

Cinnamon is not just a flavorful spice used in cooking; it has been used by many for its remarkable healing properties. In the Songs of Solomon 4:12-14, cinnamon is one of the perfumes that the king spoke of in speaking about his beloved. It was among the spices and perfumes that were highly valued in those days. It was valuable then and it is still valuable today. Its active compound, cinnamaldehyde, possesses anti-inflammatory abilities that aid in tissue repair and pain relief. Many individuals have integrated cinnamon into their home remedy regimen with success.

 

Description and Usage:

Dried cinnamon bark is used in powdered form or as sticks. The lighter-colored form is known as Ceylon Cinnamon and originated from Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon. It is grown in several countries and is preferred for its lower coumarin content. Another popular variety is the Cassia Cinnamon, which is spicier, darker in color, and has higher coumarin content. Coumarin can cause liver damage if consumed in large quantities.

 

Although it is well known worldwide for its culinary uses, cinnamon has been used for centuries for its medicinal benefits, particularly in alleviating pain and inflammation. Cinnamaldehyde is the active compound responsible for its anti-inflammatory properties. This compound has been shown to inhibit inflammatory pathways in the body. This makes cinnamon particularly beneficial for conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and menstrual cramps.

 

My Experience with Using Cinnamon for Inflammation and Pain:

12 years ago, I began to have pain in my right knee. It was extremely painful especially when I had to raise my leg to step up, even as low as 5 inches. I had to physically hold and lift my leg if I needed to step up.  A friend of mine told me that cinnamon tea could help. I tried it for about 3 weeks and the pain went away but returned a few weeks later. I decided to try it again but for a much longer period. Even when the pain went away, I continued to drink it.  I drank it every 8 hours for about 4 months.  I did some research which led me to drastically reduce the quantity of solanaceous vegetables (eggplant, bell peppers, and tomatoes) that I ate, as I found out that they can cause inflammation to worsen. Since then, I have had no more pain in my knee. 

 

I used 1 teaspoon of regular store-bought cinnamon steeped in 4-6 oz of hot water for about 5 minutes. I added ½ - 1 teaspoon of honey. After a while, I started to drink it without adding honey.  I drank it every 6-8 hours. That means 3 or 4 times in 24 hours.

 

I know an older lady, who had a similar problem about 10 years ago. She drank cinnamon and after two weeks the pain went away, and it has not returned since.

 

As always, consult with a healthcare professional before using cinnamon as a treatment for any specific health concerns, especially if you are pregnant, have underlying medical conditions, or taking medications.

Turmeric:

Turmeric, with its vibrant yellow hue, has been revered in South Asian cultures for over four millennia for its medicinal properties, particularly its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. The root of the plant has been used in Ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine.

 

Description and Usage:

The root of the plant is used fresh or dried and powdered. In recent years its use has become increasingly popular with many products being made from it.

Turmeric's active compound, curcumin, is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant agent. It's been shown to effectively reduce pain associated with various conditions, including arthritis and migraines. Turmeric can be consumed as tea, golden milk, or in supplement form for enhanced efficacy.

Turmeric tea and golden milk are two popular methods of consumption. It can also be taken in supplement form as capsules or as Curcumin extract.  Additionally, turmeric paste can be applied topically to the skin for localized pain relief.

 

 

My Experience with Using Turmeric:

I found relief from neurological pain by taking curcumin extract capsules. Due to the low concentration of curcumin in natural turmeric, supplements provided a more effective solution. Always opt for high-quality brands and consult a healthcare professional before use.

I drink turmeric tea made with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, a pinch of black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of olive oil added to 6 ozs of warm water.

Piperine (the active ingredient) in black pepper, and fat (olive oil) increase the absorption rate of Curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, to make it more bioavailable. This makes it more effective.

 

How it Works for Pain and Inflammation:

Curcumin in turmeric inhibits inflammatory pathways and scavenges free radicals, mitigating oxidative stress and reducing inflammation and pain. Its efficacy is supported by scientific studies, making it a promising natural remedy.

 

 

Ginger:

Originating from Southeast Asia, ginger has a longstanding history in traditional medicine for its digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. Its active compound, gingerol, exhibits potent anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, making it effective for various types of pain, including muscle soreness and arthritis.

 

Description and Usage:

Ginger root can be consumed fresh, dried, or powdered, and is commonly used in cooking, teas, and supplements such as capsules and lozenges. Topical applications of ginger oils or creams can also provide localized pain relief.

 

A hot compress made with ginger can also be used for pain relief. This is made by steeping freshly grated ginger in hot water for about 5 minutes, using it to soak a small towel, which is applied to the area and covered with a dry towel to maintain the heat for longer. The towel can be re-soaked, and the process repeated for 15-20 minutes.

 

How it Works for Pain and Inflammation:

Gingerol, found in ginger, inhibits the production of inflammatory molecules and acts on pain pathways in the body, akin to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) but without their adverse effects.

 

 

Willow Bark:

Willow bark has been utilized in traditional medicine for centuries to alleviate pain and inflammation. Its active compound, salicin, acts as a natural pain reliever and anti-inflammatory agent, similar to aspirin.

 

Description and Usage:

Willow bark can be consumed as a tea, in capsule form, or applied topically for localized relief. It inhibits the production of prostaglandins, reducing inflammation and pain signaling.

 

How it Works for Pain and Inflammation:

Salicin in willow bark is converted to salicylic acid in the body, inhibiting enzymes involved in inflammation. Research suggests its efficacy in conditions like osteoarthritis and lower back pain.

 

 

Arnica:

Originating from Europe and Siberia, the roots and rhizomes of arnica have been used traditionally for treating bruises, sprains, and muscle pain. Its active compounds, helenalin and dihydrohelenalin, possess anti-inflammatory properties, making it effective for pain relief.

 

Description and Usage:

Arnica is available in various forms, including creams, gels, and ointments for topical application. It can also be taken orally in homeopathic preparations, though caution is advised due to potential toxicity.

 

How it Works for Pain and Inflammation:

Arnica's sesquiterpene lactones exhibit anti-inflammatory effects and promote circulation, aiding in pain and inflammation reduction, particularly in injuries and muscle strains.

 

 

Boswellia:

Also known as Indian frankincense, Boswellia has been a staple in Ayurvedic medicine for treating inflammatory conditions like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. The bark, sap, and other parts of the plant are used for therapeutic purposes. Its active compounds, Boswellic acids, inhibit inflammation-inducing enzymes, offering pain relief and improved joint function.

Boswellia supplements are commonly available in capsule or tablet form and can also be used topically in creams or ointments for consistent dosing.
